In 2003-2004, the new 15,000 square foot post-and-beam Bear Claw Lodge was constructed within casting distance of the Kispiox River. Mountain and river views, abundant wildlife, and flat meadow bench lands are a worthy backdrop for this spectacular facility.
This salmon fishing lodge is truly a luxury resort, crafted with an intricate medley of fine joinery and post and beam construction, featuring luxurious theme rooms, local art, carvings and paintings. Bear Claw Lodge is illustrative of exemplary local craftsmanship, a testament to the creativity native of artisans and trades of the Kispiox Valley.
Totem pole sentries flank each side of a massive, three-story stone fireplace that heats the common areas of the salmon fishing lodge. Each suite includes beds and furniture designed in a pioneer or First Nations flair, then fittingly draped with goose down duvets and pillows.
