Rafting and Paddling
Whitewater Rafting
Not your average raft trip...with fine wine, sweat lodge, incredible food such as Fire Roasted Salmon, Beef Ribs, Pine-mushroom risotto, freshly baked desserts...you won’t believe that you’re actually camping. You can choose from a 1, 3, 6 or 8 day trip depending on your preference. You can even combine your raft trips with trail rides. Trail in by horseback to the Kuldo-Skeena Confluence and camp for the night before beginning your 1- 2 day raft trip. The summer of 2006 sent our crew down the Skeena where they explored the ancient trails of the Gitksan along the river’s edge. The team found ancient village sites, grave sites, fish pits, camp sites, trail markers and other items of cultural heritage. Camp cookware, safety gear and guest whitewater gear (wetsuits, gloves, spray jackets, etc) are provided for these trips.
Float Trips
No whitewater...just the gentle lapping of the river against your boat as you drift peacefully amidst the lush green shoreline while a bald eagle perched in his favourite fishing spot keeps a watchful eye. You will see beaver hauling limbs and brush to continue his insatiable building instinct and a salmon roll just ahead of the raft. It’s not uncommon to see larger game such as a black bear, moose, deer and possibly a grizzly. Our most common float is from the Sweetin-Kispiox River confluence to Bearclaw Lodge. It takes anywhere from 3-6 hours, depending on how long we stop for lunch or if we do any fishing or hiking. After a long day on the river, you can finish the day off with a relaxing soak in our river rock jacuzzi.
