Winter Activities
We have hosted some great 'ski days' over the years, including the 50 km 'Grease Trail Challenge' (a course beginning at Highway 37 and following part of the old 'Grease Trail' from the Nass to Hazelton, so named for the oolichan that were packed throughout the province). Each year we host a Community Family Ski & Skate day so locals can take advantage of the trails and our active hockey rink. Ski or snowshoe the trails along the world famous Kispiox River, in and out of rugged canyons and pristine wilderness! Skiers and snowshoers like to take a break at Bear Tail Cabin, about two kms below Bearclaw Lodge, lighting the old wood cook stove, and drinking hot chocolate.
The Cliffs have over 20 kilometres of groomed cross country ski trails along the river meadows, and surrounding hills. We also supply skis and boots in plenty!
